Remote Accommodation System at Lairig and Laoigh
Today saw they deployment of the RAS at Lairig an Laoigh. After a less than promising start with harr and hill fog preventing the helicopters from flying in the morning, we did, infact, get the whole system flown out. We were also visited by two of the funders of the Cairngorms Mountain Heritage Project. Audrey Dunn from Heritage Lottery Fund and Eleanor Mackintosh from the Board of the CNPA got to witness first hand the logistics involved in deploying the RAS. Upland Access Ltd will be in residence this summer as they work to repair and upgrade the paths of Lairig an Laoigh and Strathnethy.
