Our Directors are:
MR DAVID CAMERON
As Corporate Services Director with the Cairngorms National Park Authority, David has lead responsibility for strategic finance, organisational development and human resource management. He is Vice Chair of the Cairngorms LEADER Local Action Group, elected as Internal Auditor to the Europarc Federations and member of sportScotland Board. In his spare time he a keen walker and football supporter.
CLLR KATRINA FARQUHAR
Katrina joined the board of COAT after being election as a local councillor for Aberdeenshire Council. She is also a directly elected board member of the Cairngorms National Park Authority. She has lived in Deeside all her life and is very active in the community.
MR GREGOR HUTCHEON
Gregor, a resident of Strathdon on the eastern fringes of the National Park, brings nearly 20 years of experience of the environmental, heritage and voluntary sectors. A graduate of Aberdeen University, he has recently returned to Aberdeenshire after a varied career championing the countryside and wider environment and its role in underpinning our quality of life. This included stints with the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and the National Trust. Gregor currently serves on the Board of Cairngorms National Park Authority and brings knowledge of rural business development, planning and land use.
MR PAUL JOHNSON
Paul has worked in countryside management for 40 years, latterly as Head of Countryside for the National Trust for Scotland from 1995 until 2008. Since then he has worked as a freelance consultant. He has been an independent member of the COAT Board since 2009. His special areas of interest are in mountain path management and volunteer involvement.
MR PETER ORD
Peter was a founding member of The Upper Deeside Access Trust and continued to serve on the board during its transformation into COAT in 2008. He was appointed chairman in 2009 and retired from the position in 2016. A chartered surveyor with an agricultural degree, Peter retired in 2009 after nearly 14 years as Resident Factor of Balmoral Estate in Aberdeenshire, having been Factor of Strathmore Estates, in Angus and in County Durham for over 22 years. He was a partner of Youngs Chartered Surveyors and is now a consultant with Bell Ingram. He is a Trustee of The National Trust for Scotland. He was involved as a skier in the 1980 public inquiry into the extension of skiing facilities in Lurchers Gully, Cairngorm. He has holidayed and worked in the Cairngorms for over 50 years. Peter's principal interest is in land management. He skis, fishes, sails, curls, used to golf (poorly) and sings in a choir.
